Oulu, Finland / Shenzhen, China – July 10, 2025 – TK Group (Holdings) Co, Ltd. announced today that it has officially obtained the patent license for in-mold structural electronics (IMSE®) technology authorized by TactoTek of Finland. This cooperation marks the establishment of China's first automotive-grade IMSE® electrical functional film supply chain and simultaneously establishes TK Group's position as a Tier 1 manufacturer of IMSE® components in the consumer electronics, medical and industrial fields.
Technology integration drives manufacturing upgrade
Boris Fu, general manager of TK Precision, said: "IMSE® technology perfectly fits the group's global strategy of 'one-stop injection molding solutions'. Relying on our mature technology reserves in multi-color molding (2K/3K), IML molding, insert molding and other fields, combined with high-speed printing, thermoforming and proprietary mold engineering capabilities, we have now built an end-to-end IMSE® mass production system."
The group will simultaneously develop dual-track businesses:
As a Tier 2 automotive supplier, provide IMSE® electrical functional film core components to global Tier 1 customers.
Directly deliver complete IMSE® components with integrated smart lighting and human-machine interaction (HMI) functions for consumer electronics, medical equipment and industrial fields.
Advantages of localized supply chain highlighted
"In Shenzhen, Huizhou and Suzhou production bases, we have completed the deployment of IMSE® dedicated production lines that meet the IATF 16949 standard," Boris emphasized. "Through vertical integration of mold development, material engineering and batch manufacturing, we can shorten the product development cycle by more than 50%, significantly reduce the complexity of cross-border supply chains, and meet the growing demand for smart surface technology from Chinese and Asia-Pacific OEMs."
Technology collaboration releases innovation momentum
Marko Suo-Anttila, senior vice president of TactoTek customer solutions, confirmed: "TK Group's leading mold design capabilities and injection molding process development system make it the core fulcrum of IMSE®'s global production capacity layout. The engineering teams of both parties are working together to optimize key technologies such as thermoforming and circuit integration to promote IMSE®'s application breakthroughs in emerging fields such as ultra-thin medical devices."
Prospective layout of smart surface ecology
This technology license will strengthen TK Group's service capabilities in the following areas:
✅ Lightweight integrated structural parts (40-70% lighter than traditional solutions)
✅ Seamless touch interface (supports complex curved surface integration)
✅ Dynamic customizable lighting system
